Little Republican

Notice the elephant on the outfit. For those of you who don't know, Papa John is a MAJOR Republican..so much so that he COLLECTS Elephants. Apparently he wants his grandson to follow in his footsteps!! Papa John and Mimi sent this outfit to Jack in the mail. When it arrived today, I couldn't wait to put it on him. Thank goodness he doesn't (usually) mind me playing dress-up with him! :)

comments

fyi-I've had several people tell me that they would've left a comment on our blog if they could, so I figured out how to allow anyone to leave a comment. love to all!

Passy? I don't need no stinkin' Passy!

Notice how he spit out the passy and found the thumb...now if only he would do that at night......

Jack's first easter

we didn't really get too many pictures of him at Granny Ruthie and Mzee's house, but once Granny Ruthie sends us her pictures, maybe we'll have more to show. What you can't see in this picture is that he's looking at his new "Rock n Roll" toy that has bright lights and silly sounds and rolls around the room. As Mzee stated..."It's the parent's job to get educational toys and Grandparent's job to get noisemakers" Jack seems very interested and Maggie doesn't know what to think about the new toy. He's also enjoying his new CD of Kid Sing Praise songs (quite the blast from the past for Mommie and Daddy, these are songs we sang when we were little! How fun!)

Jacky blue eyes

no, he's not foaming at the mouth...he's just become so very drooly lately. No sign of teeth or anything.

Look how big I am!

His neck control has gotten so much stronger, and with help he can sit up quite well, but as soon as you take the help away, he weebles and wobbles! You can see very well from this angle how much of his newborn hair he's lost. Believe it or not though, he's still got quite a bit of it in the back...it's quite the balding pattern. :)

Bundle o' Joy

for all you "Get Fuzzy" comic strip fans out there....although hopefully you'll agree that Jack is sweeter and cuter than Bucky Katt!!
In our attempt to get to know our new town, we have been getting out and walking around, our new home is close to A LOT of fun things like book stores, library, toy stores, a great coffee shop and several charming parks. Daddy had a chance to get out with us the other day and he carried Jack in the front pack carrier...I told him that is probably the closest he would ever feel to feeling pregnant. Aren't those two just so cute?

More baby talk

Here is what I was trying to catch on camera earlier. I'm just waiting for him to suck that hand right off. It must taste really good. I've been tempted to keep them clean with hand sanitizer, but as Josh and Granny Ruthie pointed out, the cure might be worse than the disease in that case....just imagine the face he would make tasting that stuff...probably almost as good as the vitamin face he makes. I'd video that for you...but since the vitamins seems to upset his stomach, the aftermath just isn't worth the cute faces....

Camera Shy

I promise, the sounds you hear in the beginning are not cries, they are the sounds of our little talker as he is waking up from his nap. Unless he is starving, this is how he wakes up....but you'll notice that as soon as he catches sight of the camera, he clams up :)

NOSY!!

Maggie's new favorite indoor pastime(besides sleeping of course) is spying on whoever is walking or driving by. Our house faces a busy street and she LOVES to see what's going on, and then beg to go out and join in the fun.

Buddies

Maggie really does love her Baby Jack. (and boy are mommie and daddy relieved!!)

sweet baby...

just another cute sleepy picture....

Nighttime Routine

Mommie found a cute Bible Story book that has a song to go with each story, so each night Daddy reads the story, we sing the song, say prayers and go to sleep. He's such a sweet baby!

Look what I found!!

Now that REALLY must taste good. I was wondering the past few nights why his hands were chilly when I would go in to check on him...now I know. As Granny Ruthie joked...he's gonna have icicles on his fingers if he doesn't watch out! Lately he's been so focused on the thumb that he's almost gagged himself on it, gotten mad and then poked himself in the nose and eyes. It's kinda funny to watch!

Papa John will approve

We may be living in "Big Orange Country" now, but there is no doubt who Jack and Josh will be cheering for on college game day! Hope our new neighbors will forgive us. :) Go 'Dores!!

Happy 3 months birthday Baby Jack

He is just changing and changing all the time! He's much more alert than before and he's turning into quite a talker. Today I promise from him volume and the look on his face, it almost seemed like he was trying to be quiet and tell me a secret. It was so cute. You can tell that he seems to know just what he is trying to say. It's amazing. This morning he weighed in at 17.6 pounds which is the average weight of a 31 week old baby, NOT at 13 week old baby. He's gonna break mommie's back! His 3-6 month clothes are getting VERY snug, and his 6-9 month clothes are slightly large. I guess he really did inherit his Daddy's BIG baby genes. Acording to Pops and Bertie, Daddy was off the charts when he was a baby too. Oh, lucky Mommie! ;)

Baby Jack likes rhinos too!

Baby Jack got a stuffed rhino in honor of Pops who collects rhinos. Stay strong Pops and Bertie! Baby Jack loves you and can't wait to see you again!

We're back!

...online that is...not in Nashville...sorry if we got your hopes up! :) Since our move got delayed a few times for various reasons, our phone (and internet, and cable, and newspaper) were cut off before we officially moved...mommie felt VERY cut off from the world!! If you felt like we were ignoring you lately, we weren't!! We just got cable and internet turned back on yesterday. With the help of John, Abby, Jeff, Rachel and Jeremy and 9+carloads of stuff we finally got moved this past Sunday. You guys are AWESOME!! There is no way we could've done it without all of you!! We are settling in pretty well, Jack has adjusted nicely to sleeping in his own room in his own bed. Maggie is still not completely sure what is going on in this new place. She's a smart dog, she'll figure it out. Keep in touch!

Is anybody there?

yes, there is a daddy somewhere under that pile of blankets. He came home early from work sick and hibernated the rest of the day in the room underneath every blanket in the house. Thank goodness he felt better by the next morning.

Let me love on you!

When John and Abby came over to help with packing, Maggie was very excited to see them! Actually she's excited to see anyone who migh give her the attention she feels she's lacking. Abby started loving on her and Maggie loved it! She's hugging Abby's leg and just in heaven!
