Josh, Melanie, Jack, and Wesley and now BO live in a small town in TN. Maggie the wonderdog used to live here too and left our family way too soon. 7 years just wasnt long enough to have her in our family. We miss her SO much! We will keep the blog name as is, in her memory...and because I dont know how to change it!

I know some people might get a bit grossed out that we let our dog give "kisses" to our baby, but we are just so pleased that they get along...but we do try to limit their "affection" for each other! After several months of pulling and yanking on her ears and fur, he's gotten really good at gently petting her and playing with her tags on her collar. They love each other so much, that I'm pretty sure that Jack's order of preference for a playmate is 1)Maggie, 2)Daddy, 3) Mommie. Now that he is crawling and pulling up, she has a harder time getting away from him, but as I discovered the other day, even that is a fun game to her. I think she's just trying to play "hard to get"
Maggie was chewing on one of her chew toys and Jack decided he wanted to play with it too, so he scoots over to her and reaches out for her toy. She wasn't in the mood to share, so (without any growl or snarl or anything) she hops up and moves across the room. He quickly scoots over to where she has relocated, and tries again to "share" the toy, and she hops up again and goes to another spot...and he follows. This happened or 5 times, all while I was watching very closely. Finally I swooped down to distract him (even our patient dog has her limits...) and we sat down to play. She looked up, trotted over to where we were, and started chewing on her toy right next to us. Then she hopped up (leaving behind the toy in question) and went to get an almost identical toy and brought it over to where we were sitting, as if to share. I think its just the sweetest thing!
They also have their own little version of fetch/keep away that's really cute to watch too. As soon as I can, I'm dying to post so pictures of Jack finding some of Maggie's "hiding places"
