This kid makes me laugh! I am enjoying hearing his thoughts and ideas and all the funny random things that fly into his head:
*As we were preparing for company, I needed to unload the dishwasher. Given how pregnant and uncomfortable I am, it would be nice not to have to bend down over and over and over. It's just about gotten to the point where I dont just let Jack "help," I NEED his help. Well, he had been helping a lot that morning and he was taking a break in his room, playing with his toys. I asked him "Jack, can you come help me with the dishes?" and his reply was
"No Mommie, Jack too busy." Well, excuuuuuse me! ;)
*Right now Jack's moral compass is pretty much based on whether what is going on makes people "happy or sad" ...I think it may have started when I would discourage him from doing something harmful because "You might get hurt, and that would make mommie sad." Well, lately he has taken it to a whole new level....in the car we were singing along with a song and he told me
"No sing song mommie, make daddy very VERY sad!"...and he hasnt just done this to me, but to Josh, and my mom....and its not just about singing songs, but about anything that may pop into his head that he wants us to stop....is this the beginning of guilt trips?
*A few weeks ago he got a hangnail. All he could tell me that his finger hurt, and when I informed him that it was a hangnail and we fixed it with a set of fingernail clippers, suddenly he got very concerned with hangnails. This morning while he was playing in the bathtub he saw me trimming my toenails. He then asked me
"Mommie have a hang-toe?"
*The other day we had some trouble with getting Jack down for a nap, and Josh laid down with him for a minute. Jack was very concerned with Daddy's "prickles" on his face. He asked Daddy to
"Take beard off face." Today he was asking me to draw pictures of people, and when it came time to draw Daddy, I was really confused when he told me
"Draw pickles on daddy" until he explained
"Draw PRICKLES on Daddys face!"
*My current FAVORITE random conversation with Jack: One morning we were sitting at the table having breakfast and I had a glass of milk with my oatmeal. Randomly he asked
"Jack put finger in Mommie's milk?" and his little finger was poised and ready for me to say yea or nay and a mischievous smile on his face. Of course I told him NO and asked him "Why do you want to to put your finger in my milk?" Before he could answer my question, Daddy piped up "That's nothing, listen to what he asked me a few minutes ago..." Jack and Daddy were playing in the floor and Daddy had a cup of coffee he was sipping on. All of a sudden Jack looked at the cup of coffe and asked
"Jack put toes in coffee?" After practically snorting coffee out of his nose, Daddy said "No, why do you want to put your TOES in my coffee?" to which Jack replied
"Make coffee yucky, make Daddy very, VERY sad" and that was the end of that....until this morning at table he started talking about it again....my guess is to get another hysterical laughing fit out of mommie....
